Why Does Kids’ Skills Work?
Kids love Kids’ Skills!
Kids’ Skills is fun, playful and creative! During a Kids’ Skills session, children and young people enjoy and are motivated by the process of learning new skills. As a result, Kids’ Skills helps children to become experts in their own learning.
Parents want to get involved!
With a Kids’ Skills approach there is no blame or judgement directed towards parents. As a result, parents really want to get involved in helping their child overcome problems.
Professionals value the Kids’ Skills model!
Professionals are encouraged to play a valuable role in the Kids’ Skills process. Not only is Kids’ Skills a truly collaborative approach but it also represents great child centred practice.
Kids’ Skills UK in Action
For Kids
Kids’ Skills inspires children to become interested in and motivated to solving their own problem. At Kids’ Skills UK we would like to enable as many children as possible to experience the Kids’ Skills approach. Our team of certified Kids’ Skills Coaches can provide either individual or group work inputs to young people. We can guarantee that all our inputs are responsive to the needs of the young person.
For Parents
‘Kids’ Skills for Parents’ is a fun and creative parenting program designed to enable parents to celebrate their parenting strength and learn new skills. Parents are encouraged to use the skills they develop in their relationship with their children. Kids’ Skills for Parents complements the Kids’ Skills approach and builds a sense of cooperation and collaboration within the family unit.
For Organisations
Kids’ Skills UK provides an extensive range of training and workshops based on the Kids’ Skills approach. Our aim is to provide inputs tailored to meet the particular needs of any organisation. Our organisational inputs can range from Kids’ Skills certification for groups of staff, individual mentoring and coaching for individuals and full staff team training events.
For Professionals
We have designed, in partnership with Ben Furman, a certification program. Upon completion, participants will gain a Kids’ Skills Coaching Certificate from the Helsinki Brief Therapy Institute. The program will give participants a full and comprehensive understanding of the Kids’ Skills approach.
